What screen media size do you need?
A double deck screener gives you three products in one pass. Pick the size you want and this tool tells you which screen media sizes to install.
The screen you need will always have a bigger opening than the product that falls through it
Material falls onto the inclined screens at an angle, not square on, so the effective opening is smaller than the hole you actually measure. A 1″ screen does not make 1″ product — it typically cuts closer to 3/4″. Size your screens to the target one-to-one, aperture to target size, and you end up with material finer than you are looking to sell.
One pass, three products
The top deck scalps off the oversize. Your product is the material that passes the top deck but does not go through the bottom screen, and it is ejected out one of the belts. Everything smaller drops through the bottom deck to the fines belt.
The oversize can go back to the crusher or be sold as-is. The fines are screenings, compactable base or stone dust — all saleable products, not waste.
